Cookie policy
This page explains what cookies and similar storage bddyreelsmediabreez.com uses, what each category does, and how you can control them. It should be read with the privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and return on later visits. Similar technologies include local storage, which this site uses to remember your consent choice, and pixels or scripts that a third-party service may load. In this policy "cookie" covers all of these unless stated otherwise. Cookies can be first-party, set by this site, or third-party, set by another domain whose service we use.
2. How consent works on this site
When you first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page offers three options. Accept All allows essential, analytics and functional cookies. Reject Non-Essential allows only the essential category. Preferences opens a panel where you can allow analytics and functional cookies separately and save your choice. Whatever you choose is stored in your browser's local storage under the key bddy-cookie-consent, and non-essential cookies are only set after you have allowed the relevant category. You can change your choice at any time by clearing that key from your browser storage, after which the banner will appear again on your next visit.
3. The categories
| Category | Purpose | Typical names | Set by | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear; supports basic security and load balancing at the hosting provider. | bddy-cookie-consent (local storage); hosting session identifiers | This site; hosting provider | Until cleared; session | Not required |
| Analytics | Measures which pages are read, how visitors arrive and how the site performs, so that we can improve the content. Set only if you allow this category. | Names beginning _ga and _gid are typical of Google Analytics; other tools use their own | Analytics provider, on our behalf | From the session up to two years, depending on the cookie | Required |
| Functional | Remembers settings that make the site more convenient, such as details entered in the contact form or a preferred display option. Set only if you allow this category. | First-party preference cookies | This site | Up to twelve months | Required |
Analytics data is used in aggregate. Where an analytics tool offers the option to shorten or mask IP addresses, we enable it. We do not use cookies for advertising and we do not allow third parties to set advertising cookies through this site.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
All mainstream browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and local storage. The controls are usually found under settings headed Privacy, Security or Site Data. You can block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or clear stored data for a single site. Blocking essential storage will mean the consent banner appears on every visit, because there is nowhere to remember your choice; the rest of the site will continue to work. Browser vendors publish their own instructions, and the Information Commissioner's Office provides general guidance on cookies for UK users.
If you allow analytics cookies and later want to withdraw, either use the Preferences panel by clearing your stored choice as described above, or install the opt-out tools that analytics providers offer for their own services.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send signals asking sites not to track visitors. Because there is no agreed standard for how sites should interpret them, we rely on the consent banner rather than these signals. If a recognised legal standard for honouring such signals is adopted in the United Kingdom, we will update this policy and our banner accordingly.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if we add or remove a cookie category, change provider, or if the law changes. Where a change means a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent again before setting it.
